Police To Provide Security For All Flagbearers

The Administration of the Ghana Police Service says security will be given to all Flagbearers contesting in the November polls. Police DSP, Cephas Arthur disclosed on Kasapa FM that the various presidential candidates and their running mates will be given extra protection before and during the November elections.


" We have always given them protection. In 2012, we gave them the option of making an input as to which police officer they will be comfortable within their security set up. We just don't impose any police officer on any flagbearer.


If you observed, all the flagbearers were given protection such that even three months after the elections Hassan Ayariga was still moving about with the policeman assigned to him until we finally withdrew him "


The statement comes after reports in the national newspapers revealed that three ex South African Police Officers were arrested by the Bureau of National Investigations(BNI) for allegedly indulging in illegal activities that threaten national security.
