I Was Sacked For Demanding $100,000 - Kevin

AC Milan and Former Ghanaian Midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng has sparked quite another controversy here in Ghana. How many remember the 2014 World Cup fiasco in Brazil? An event which sent the whole nation into a state of oblivion.

The Ghana Football Association sacked Kevin Prince Boateng from the camp of the black stars on the grounds of indiscipline. An official statement from the GFA said;

"The decision was taken following Boateng's vulgar verbal insults targeted at Coach Kwesi Appiah during the team's training session in Maceio this week. Boateng has since showed no remorse for his actions which has resulted in the decision"

Most of us have been made to believe that Boateng and Sulley Muntari were sacked for complaining and venting their anger on the top officials for unpaid bonuses. However, the player believes otherwise. The following is an issued statement from Kevin Prince Boateng to Sky Italia;

"I think Appiah had a problem with me and was only looking for a reason to send me away. To be honest I was thrown out. I think it is really because I met with the President of the GFA for 20 minutes and asked where the money from Fifa had gone"

Shocking right? The player's account of the incident contradicts the information that was released to the public. The player believes he is innocent even though then coach Kwesi Appiah told the World Cup Commission of Inquiry that Boateng verbally insulted him TWICE using the F-word in front of other players on different occasions at the World Cup.

WILL WE EVER SEE HIM AGAIN?

The controversy still continues! It seems like the midfielder is no longer interested in Ghana. Just a few weeks ago, Boateng removed tags of him being a Ghanaian international from his Twitter account. And this has sparked another controversy. This has prompted many to believe the AC Milan player will no longer play for his country even if the indefinite suspension is lifted.

Boateng seems to be appearing on headlines nowadays. The former Ghana international has written a book about his football life - even to the extent of revealing situations where he went out partying right after or before training sessions.

UPDATE: KWESI APPIAH DENIES HARBOURING KEVIN PRINCE BOATENG.
Ex- Black Stars Coach, Kwesi Appiah has denied harbouring Kevin Prince Boateng. The young man denied Boateng's accusation on Kasapa FM. He said;

"I do not harbour hate against any human being and I will rather wish he does an introspective search to find out why out of 23 players he was the only one who had problems with both the technical team and officialdom. Now we have all moved on so it will be better for him to keep quiet and channel his energy into prayers in order to get a lot of playing time at his club and allow us to live in peace."
