Tema Shipyard workers jubilate over the reinstatement of sacked colleagues
Two staff members of Tema PSC, Michael Ofori Frimpong, and Mr. Samuel Ayensu, had their appointments terminated a few months ago. The two got the sack after they led workers of PSC Tema Shipyard Limited to petition President John Dramani Mahama over what they referred to as mismanagement - i.e on the part of immediate past Managing Director of the company, Mr. Ali Tunde.
Director General of Ghana Port and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Mr. Anamoo, and the new manager for of PSC Tema Shipyard, Mr. Kwesi Miccah, have reinstated the two into office following a directive from the President, John Dramani Mahama.
The workers have since commended government for reinstating the two senior staff members, saying the move will enhance efficiency and increase government’s revenue.
According to them, they are delighted that President Dramani Mahama brought back their chairman and secretary because they believe the two possess the ability to implement recommendations of the government to renovate the company.
