Justice Kwaku Ackah Boafo Dismisses Dr. Zanetor's application

According to reports reaching Ghana News Central, an Accra High Court presided by Justice Kwaku Ackah Boafo has dismissed the application filed by Dr. Zanetor Rawlings. Dr. Rawlings seeks dismissal of a case filed against her over her eligibility to contest in the 2016 November election. Dr. Zanetor Rawlings is the parliamentary candidate elect for the NDC Klottey Korle Constituency.


The plaintiffs, Nii Armah Ashietey and Nii John Coleman earnestly hope that the court will stop Dr. Zanetor from contesting in the general elections. They claim it is unlawful for Dr. Zanetor Rawlings to contest in the upcoming general elections because she is not a registered voter.


The reports also disclose that Justice Ackah Boafo in his ruling described the application a good poem that makes a bad read.


However, the counsel for Dr. Zanetor Rawlings were not pleased with the ruling. They argued in court that adequate constitution interpretation is not being cited advocating that the Supreme Court is the only fitting source that can deal with the jurisdiction of such matters.
